Wedge sneakers are unique in that they look like your average sneaker, but they sport a bit of a difference. The difference is that the sneaker part literally looks like it is built upon a wedge block that makes up the heel. This does give a bit of elevation. It may be fair to compare the heel to that of the wedge heels that are placed on some high heel shoes or sandals. The foot is elevated in the same way as a high heel shoe. The only difference is that there is more support since the actual shoe part is that of a sneaker. It produces more comfort than your average high heel, elongates the leg, and provides that needed height. Wedge sneakers do all of this while giving that sense of style that everyone wants.
